On September 26, at 12 o’clock in the Conference Hall of the Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania, Veronika will present a triple vinyl album commemorating her 80th birthday and 60 years of stage activity.
The only vinyl record pressing plant in Lithuania, “Green Lakes Pressing,” through its publishing division “Green Repress,” released Veronika Povilionienė’s “Anthology” earlier – the album was presented at the 2026 Vilnius Book Fair. However, Veronika’s health at that time did not allow her to meet with fans and listeners, so such a meeting is being organized now.
In preparing the “Anthology” for publication, the most famous, important, and most reflective recordings of her diverse creativity were selected from more than 30 previously released V. Povilionienė albums.
They, placed on 3 records, were grouped into 5 parts: “Most Beautiful Hymns” – a brief kaleidoscope of all creative stages; “With Petras Vyšniauskas” and “Duets” more broadly illuminate Veronika’s collaboration with other performers; “Accompanied by Orchestras” and “Songs for Lithuania’s Freedom” reveal the beauty of the singer’s songs when vocals are accompanied by multi-instrumental ensembles.
All vinyl designs are richly illustrated with photos of Veronika – from childhood to solo performances on the biggest stages. All three records are sold separately for the convenience of listeners, but a significant part of the print run – for true fans of Veronika’s talent and music collectors – is compiled into a triple album in a rigid cardboard package.
At the meeting with fans and listeners in the Conference Hall of the Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania, V. Povilionienė will tell the stories behind the creation of the “Anthology” works and answer questions.
Here we will be able to purchase vinyls, get the singer’s autograph, and take photos with her. Excerpts from V. Povilionienė’s concerts and the documentary film “Veronika” created by Rimas Bružas will also be shown on the screen.
At this year’s Lithuanian Music Awards M.A.M.A, V. Povilionienė, called the mother of Lithuanian folklore by the musicians themselves, was awarded for her lifetime achievements in Lithuanian music.
At the end of the year, the singer will celebrate her honorable 80th birthday, so a solo concert by V. Povilionienė is planned on November 29 at St. Catherine’s Church in Vilnius!
