The idea for the event was born to Mayor Robert Duchnevičius together with the municipality’s cat, Meras. Last year’s “Zoo Fiesta” attracted the attention of animal lovers, so this year the event returns and invites everyone to meet again with their pets, according to a press release.

“Zoo Fiesta” is a day dedicated to everyone who loves animals and enjoys spending time together. Last year we tried out this idea, and this year we invite you to come back and enjoy the celebration again, where there will be plenty of fun activities for both people and their pets. I hope this tradition will bring together more and more families and animal lovers every year,” says Robert Duchnevičius, Mayor of Vilnius district.
Registration for participants will begin at 11:30, and the official opening of the event will take place at 12:00. At 12:15, visitors will enjoy a demonstration program of service dogs.
From 13:00 to 15:00, dog competitions will take place, where participants can test their pets’ agility, speed, and skills. The program includes “Sit and Climb!”, “Taxi” race, temptation track, 30-meter run, “Trick Master,” “Catch Me If You Can!” and a fan favorite contest.
Pre-registration is required to participate in the dog competitions.
At 15:00, the Young Handlers contest “Child and Dog” will be held, followed by a mixed-breed dog show at 15:15.

Throughout the event, a children’s entertainment corner will be available for the youngest visitors, so there will be plenty of fun activities for the young participants as well.
Also, from 13:00 to 15:00, there will be a microchipping campaign for pets. Cats, dogs, and ferrets will be microchipped during this time. Pre-registration is required to use this service.
The highlight of the event will be at 16:00, when the competition winners will be announced and awarded.
Residents are invited to come to “Zoo Fiesta” with their pets and spend a fun autumn day in Peteša.
