„I felt that after the song „If God Had a Daughter” I was slightly burdened by expectations, – says Giedrė. – For a while, I simply allowed myself not to create anything. Then I sat down at the piano and wrote down what I remember from different periods. My map of experiences is not so small, so after wandering a bit, I laid out the route of the song’s lyrics for my listeners.“

The idea for the music video was inspired by the fact that in early childhood Giedrė lived with her parents near the once-operating „Aidas“ cinema in Vilnius.
„Later it was demolished and now it is no longer in any corner of the map, only a few photos remain online, – Giedrė recounts. – Although hazy, I remember myself at about 3-4 years old watching Indian films there. This memory surfaced quite recently. I thought – here, a child learns life dramas from Indian films. I shared this feeling with the video director Greta Griniūtė. I thought beautiful layers occur between the song’s text, which directly reads a person’s growth and life story, and the visuals, which simultaneously tell other layers: a little girl is shown the film of life. After all, we all meet people at some point who play the film of life for us. Just as we are handed a map at birth, which we must learn to use and find our place on.“
Giedrė entered the magical cinema booth, where the film reel starts to roll, for the first time.
„The cinema mechanic Henrikas patiently showed me how to correctly insert the film reel and how to start the film without cutting off a fingertip: it turns out this is possible if you don’t do your job carefully. It’s not that simple,“ – Giedrė shares with a smile.

There were very beautiful coincidences during filming.
„At the Ozas cinema center, we managed to find an old Indian film on a film reel. I asked the cinema mechanic what year this film was from. It turned out to be from 1979. A chill ran down my spine because that’s the year I was born! From that moment, I was convinced that this was exactly the film I saw as a child! And the whole filming atmosphere was recreated so well that it reminded me very much of the „Aidas“ cinema,“ – Giedrė says.
The video captures attention not only with the singer turned cinema mechanic but also with the wonderful little heroine Aglaja Frigerio, who looks at the screen with curious childlike eyes, quickly learning to imitate the dance moves seen there.
„I myself am still just as curious as the girl from the video. I am still very interested in traveling through the map of life, visiting all its corners,“ – Giedrė says.
She will perform the song „Jokiam žemėlapio kampe“ at her upcoming concerts: on June 17-18 at the Vilnius Summer Terrace (tickets for the first concert are already sold out, so an additional one was arranged) and on July 3 at the „Oldman“ park in Palanga.
