Participation in “Road to the Stars 2” did not lead to victory at that time, and soon Tautvydas went to England. There he tried several jobs until he unexpectedly found a profession that he has been connected with ever since.

“Life turned out so that I went to England. There I worked various small jobs: I delivered goods, was a waiter, a bartender, and so on. Later I started volunteering at a school in England and felt that I was good at working with children – I could teach them, and we got along great. That’s how I discovered the role of a teacher,” says Tautvydas.
Deciding to take this path more seriously, Tautvydas began studying pedagogy in Lithuania. Since he was still living in England at the time, he had to combine studies with constant trips back and forth.
“I could only obtain my bachelor’s degree through distance learning. I flew to sessions and then returned back until I finally finished my studies after moving back to Lithuania with my family,” he recalls.
Although today Tautvydas talks about school as a place where he found himself, his own experience as a student was not so pleasant. Different from others, musical, and actively involved in school life, he also faced bullying at that time.
“Young people are free now, but back then, just wearing flared pants was enough to make you immediately different. I was musical, sang, participated in events, was surrounded by many friends, and someone didn’t like that. I wouldn’t say I was a laughingstock, but I had to endure quite a lot,” Tautvydas admits.
Although many years have passed since then, the bullying he experienced affected his self-confidence for a long time. Among close people, Tautvydas could feel free, but in unfamiliar environments it was harder for him. According to him, this began to change only after moving abroad.

“I used to be very open and brave only with close people and friends who knew me. In new places, I was reserved. But I returned from England a different person. I gained much more freedom to be myself and simply started thinking less about what others think of me,” says Tautvydas.
That the opinion of others no longer limits his choices today is shown by one of the man’s more unexpected hobbies – besides music, tennis, and cycling, Tautvydas also attends step aerobics classes. His wife encouraged him to try them.
“My wife had already been attending those classes and one day she said: ‘You just try it.’ I told her to stop joking, but guess what – I went to the beginners’ group and now I’m not a beginner at all, even though there are only a few men there,” laughs Tautvydas.
In almost two decades since his first appearance on television, much has changed in Tautvydas’s life, but the desire to sing has never disappeared. Music, as he himself says, sometimes took a back seat and then returned again. And today the time has come to try again – this time on “The Voice of Lithuania.”
“I thought, that’s it. Time to sing for Lithuania. I want to hear the comments – whether this dream is still meant to come true, or maybe it’s enough and it’s time for me to go home,” smiles Tautvydas.
Whether the stage of “The Voice of Lithuania” will become the beginning of a new musical chapter for Tautvydas, returning to a television music project after almost two decades, will be revealed this Saturday at 7:30 PM on LNK.
