Two Russian tourists were rescued after spending the night in the forest on the western coast of Mahé Island, in the Cap Ternay area. They got lost while returning from a trip to Anse Major, writes the Seychelles News Agency.

The tourists A. Sochugova and A. Buchevskis were found by the Seychelles police rescue team, which started the search after the couple called for help on their mobile phones. The search operation lasted all night.
This was the largest search operation ever conducted in Seychelles to find tourists.
According to the police, the couple went on a hike to Anse Major. Later that same day, unable to return by the same route, they decided to travel through the forest trail towards Cap Ternay. At dusk, the tourists got lost in a difficult area and could no longer find their way out of the forest.
Police spokesperson Julinio Nourrice said that this was the largest search operation ever conducted in Seychelles to find tourists.
