However, the well-known woman says that it was precisely then that she felt more alive than ever and learned to enjoy not what she could still be and do, but the path she had already taken and how many beautiful things she had created. Today, the songwriter presents the song “Dar Kart”: although listeners know the creator as an ambassador of romantic songs, this song is especially sad.

“Sometimes you write a song, and sometimes you barely manage to write it down. The feeling is as if someone is dictating the lines and melody. I have heard that this is called the language of light, or maybe it is just inspiration – I don’t even know exactly what to call it. But when a song flows like that, you feel infinitely alive. That’s how ‘Dar Kart’ came about.
I didn’t choose for it to be minor or sad – it was simply born that way,” says Viktorija.
People who are constantly looking for parallels or reasons why certain songs are born might wonder: why did Viktorija, who just started a family, seem to begin writing sad songs.
Did something deeper happen in the relationship?
Viktorija immediately dispels doubts: “The song was created a long time ago, so you shouldn’t look for parallels with my wedding or current relationship in it. Although, in general, I don’t think a person’s creativity should suddenly become only bright and happy after marriage. We experience many different feelings within ourselves, and songs don’t necessarily tell only what we are experiencing today.”
Viktorija herself says that the piece is not sad at all, especially when you listen to it through headphones and… iron clothes!
“The other day, while ironing clothes, I turned on my song and realized that I wanted to move, not iron. It’s not that sad when you let the sounds lead,” the creator smiles.
Having married in the summer, Viktorija reveals what life changes she had to go through: “This stage of my life is full of everything. I think it does both things: it stops and strongly inspires. This summer, life literally stopped me.

After the wedding, I had two surgeries, had to spend a lot of time in bed, heal, wait for answers, and be in uncertainty. When you can’t constantly run somewhere, make plans, or fill your days with activities, you stay very close to yourself and start thinking about things you might not have had much time for before. Facing illness reminds you that you are not eternal.
And although it sounds sad, this realization brought me a lot of life. I like to think about where we come from and where we will go, but in moments like these, you feel even more that nothing is taken for granted, and you start to appreciate simple things even more.
The morning when you wake up, people around you, the ability to create, sing, go to the sea, or just feel good in your body. It seems that after this summer, something in me was reborn. I used to very often look at myself from today’s point of view – what I haven’t done yet, where I haven’t grown, what I haven’t become. Now I more often look back and see where I came from, what I was, and how much path I have already traveled.
Sometimes we want so strongly to become a better version of ourselves that in that constant improvement, we forget to accept and love ourselves as we already are. So, I think I will create more songs about life,” Viktorija confides.
And very soon – in October – Viktorija’s heartfelt and beloved musical baby will appear on the Lithuanian music scene: her first album of songs!
“Right now, I’m just bursting with impatience, how much I want to share my album with everyone! I hope that everyone will find their favorite song in it. And later, concerts are planned, which I am also very, very much looking forward to,” the music author shares her future plans with listeners.
