For the former star of the series “Baywatch,” who is now 59, this painful news was delivered after she was diagnosed with hepatitis C in the late 90s. At that time, there was no cure for this virus.

She admitted that this diagnosis was like a “death sentence” to her. At the 2026 “amfAR Gala Venezia” event, dedicated to raising funds for medical research, Pamela told the audience that doctors told her she “probably had about 10 years left to live.”

The actress also admitted that this diagnosis may have “distorted” her later decisions. Upon hearing such news, she was most afraid for her children. Pamela and her ex-husband Tommy Lee raised two sons – 30-year-old Brandon Thomas and 28-year-old Dylan Jagger.
As reported by “Variety,” Pamela told the event guests: “It turned my life upside down.” She also admitted that the treatment for this disease cost “everything she had in her bank account.”
The actress said that the shame and guilt she experienced together were like an “unconscious journey,” the traces of which remain to this day and which “haunts” her even now.
Fortunately, in 2015 Pamela was already completely cured of this disease. This became possible after drugs curing hepatitis C were confirmed in 2011. She first spoke publicly about her diagnosis in 2002.
In 2015, just before announcing that the virus was no longer in her body, Pamela told “People” magazine: “I was very lucky to have lived with hepatitis C for about 16 years. Sixteen years ago, this diagnosis was presented to me as a death sentence.
I think it greatly affected my self-esteem. Although I might have appeared confident on the outside, I think there was actually a dark cloud hanging over me all the time.”
“I have always spoken out for removing the stigma from hepatitis C and AIDS. I think subconsciously the disease affects you,” she said.

At the same time, she also added: “Every day I look in the mirror and feel like I look younger and younger. I feel like I am getting those 20 years back.”
Last month, Pamela also openly talked about her time at the “Playboy” mansion. She admitted there was one thing she “never did” while visiting there.
Previously, appearing on “The Howard Stern Show,” the actress, who has graced the pages of “Playboy” magazine multiple times, detailed what her visits to the famous mansion were like. According to her, she set quite clear boundaries during her first visit.
“You know, on the first day at the Playboy mansion, I was wearing my ripped jeans. With a rock band t-shirt, sneakers, and those socks with little bubbles.
And they said to me: ‘You know, next time you come, you can go to the Playboy mansion wardrobe and change there.’ And I thought: ‘I wonder what kind of clothes are in that Playboy mansion wardrobe?'”

I didn’t stay there. I was uneasy. It’s my sixth sense. I always felt that way. Even when I first arrived, the first thing they said was: ‘You will stay at the Playboy mansion.’
I replied: ‘No, I will stay at a hotel.’ And that’s what I did. Then they would call me and say: ‘Pamela, we want you to come to the fight night,’ and I would answer: ‘I’m not going to fight anyone.’
