According to the creators, the text by Liutauras Degėsys was chosen deliberately – it speaks about something close to many. Autumn here is not just a season. It is what we have lived through, experienced, and survived, what we have lost, found, and preserved. It is the autumn of a person’s life, containing memories, longing, reconciliation, and light.

The music for Liutauras Degėsys’s poems was created by Vilija and Ramūnas Šepučiai. The song was recorded at Germano Skorio’s recording studio. He arranged the piece and played the bass guitar and percussion parts.
The music video was directed by Kęstutis Meliauskas, with assistant director Agnė Meliauskienė. The video was filmed in black and white – a part of Kęstutis Meliauskas’s distinctive creative style. The director has created several music videos for well-known Lithuanian artists, including Mantas Jankavičius, Raminta Naujanytė-Bjellė, and others. This time, his chosen restrained visual language allows focusing on the person, their state, and the story told by the song.
The idea to invite Regina Šaltenytė for the main role accompanied the creators from the very beginning of the creative process. The actress performing at the Klaipėda Drama Theatre is one of the most prominent personalities of this theatre. She is a laureate of the Lithuanian National Culture and Art Prize, the Government Culture and Art Prize, and also a Klaipėda Culture Master. The character created by Regina Šaltenytė becomes the emotional core of the video – her gaze, movement, and presence in the frame subtly accompany the song’s story and convey what is sometimes hard to express in words.
The video was filmed by the Baltic Sea – on the dunes, in the coastal forest, and on the pier. During the filming days, almost a mystical event occurred: it seemed that the very coastal air adapted to the mood of the song. A strong wind blew, clouds drifted across the sky, and the sun constantly broke through them. The ever-changing nature became not only a background but also another character in the video – as if telling the story about time, memories, and what remains beyond the gates of the past summer.
“Beyond the gates of the past summer swayed by the wind” is a work where poetry, music, image, and nature merge into a seamless narrative. About passing time, human experiences, and the summers and autumns we all have. About what we leave behind the gates and what, despite the passing time, we carry with us.
Live meeting in Klaipėda
The song “Beyond the gates of the past summer swayed by the wind” and other original songs will also be heard live by listeners. On October 8, 2026, at 6:30 PM, an acoustic music concert “With the wind…” will take place at the Klaipėda Concert Hall.
On stage – the creative duo “JieDu” – Vilija and Ramūnas Šepučiai – along with Jonas Baltokas and Daiva Plikšnienė. Acoustic music and original songs will be played – music where the word, story, and connection with the listener are important.
