“There is always the possibility that V. Putin will use his relations with Belarus or the pressure exerted on it and use Belarusian territory as a corridor for an offensive. Such a scenario is entirely possible and no commander should ignore it,” warned G. Grant.
According to him, Russia will try to find new ways to fight, as it has not demonstrated new methods of operation on the front for a long time.
“Ukraine must be prepared for this at any moment. Russia will always try to come up with something new, so the risk of a change in its tactics must be taken seriously,” the expert noted.
However, according to G. Grant, the Belarusian dictator will continue to try to avoid involving his army in the war against Ukraine.
“We will probably never know what is really going on between V. Putin and A. Lukashenko. A. Lukashenko has so far quite cleverly avoided direct involvement in the war, and I do not think he will want to change that,” the colonel believes.
The expert added that Belarus’s involvement in the conflict would pose a serious domestic political risk for A. Lukashenko himself, as many Belarusians do not support his rule.
He suggested that the overall situation may remain stable in the near future, but changes will occur in the later stage of the war.

“I am convinced that changes will occur in this war in the near future. Exactly where and what they will be, I cannot predict,” said G. Grant.
According to him, the Ukrainian leadership must quickly analyze the enemy’s actions, promptly detect preparations for new operations, and be ready to adapt.
“We must react very quickly, notice signs that something new is being prepared, and be ready for it,” the expert noted.
Earlier, border guards reported that Russian forces are trying to scout Ukrainian defensive positions in the direction of Vovchansk. With such actions, the enemy seeks to create conditions for further offensive.
