“Having defended the fundamental principles of freedom of speech in the LRT law, journalists are ending the protest action. The moments of silence were intended to inform the public about dangers and threats. We sincerely hope that never again in independent Lithuania will we have to listen to deafening silence on LRT airwaves, and that the arising problems can be resolved through dialogue,” reads the statement released by the LRT protest group.

The broadcaster’s protest group thanks the public who came to protest near the Seimas and to Cathedral Square, the Association of Professional Journalists, the cultural community, and international organizations.
