So, which travel destinations suit you best? Find out by taking this test:
What type of traveler are you?
“In tourism psychology, it has long been noticed that people choose trips not only based on price or destination. For some, rest and peace are most important, for others, discovering new countries, for some, convenience when traveling with children, and for others – the opportunity to catch the best deal. In other words, different people look for the same vacation for different reasons,” says Inga Aukštuolytė, head of public relations and marketing at Lithuania’s largest travel organizer “Tez Tour.”
This is confirmed by a representative survey of Lithuanian travelers conducted on behalf of this travel organizer. Its data reveals clear differences between travelers who prioritize comfort, service, and worry-free experiences, and those for whom the destination, country culture, and experiences are most important. Families with children and travelers whose decisions are primarily influenced by price also stand out.

Based on statistics, four most common traveler types can be distinguished.
The first type is the “Seeker of peaceful rest”, who most often chooses destinations in Turkey (Belek, Side, Kemer), Egypt (Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh), and Greece (Crete, Rhodes).
This type of traveler understands vacation as an opportunity to rest and not think about any logistics for at least a week. The most important thing for them is that everything is clear, comfortable, and planned in advance. Hotel quality and service package often become more important than the country itself.
The study shows that this group places particular importance on hotel rating (80%) and the “all-inclusive” principle (79%). These are significantly higher figures than among travelers who primarily choose trips based on the country.
Such clients also more often trust the travel organizer’s reputation, agent recommendations, and look for a safe, proven choice.

They usually look for “All-inclusive,” high-class hotels and VIP services, a reliable travel organizer, direct flights, and smooth travel.
The second traveler type is called “Explorers”. These people most often choose Italy (Tuscany, Sardinia, Calabria), Spain (Barcelona, Tenerife, Malaga), Portugal (Madeira), Greece (Corfu, Peloponnese).

For this traveler, the place is more important than the hotel. They usually already know which country they want to visit and choose the trip based on culture, architecture, food, nature, or specific sites.
Debunked myths about “last-minute” trips and hotel stars: what is really worth knowing?
According to the study, the importance of country choice in this group reaches as high as 86% – one of the highest figures. Hotel rating and “all-inclusive” are secondary criteria for them.

The goal of “Explorers” is to see, learn, and experience. They value a hotel in the city center, convenient transportation, the possibility to go on excursions or explore the region independently. These travelers look for interesting destinations, authentic experiences, excursions, a convenient location in the city or region, flexibility, rather than “all-inclusive.”
The third traveler type is “Family captains”. They most often travel to Turkey (Side, Belek, which offer short transfers, water parks, and similar), Greece (Crete is especially suitable due to the long season from April, also good for May holidays), Egypt (Hurghada), Bulgaria.
Families with children up to 16 years old, according to “Tez Tour,” make up as much as 42% of all travelers. For these people, vacation planning often starts not from the destination but from the school holiday calendar. They care not only about rest but also that the entire trip goes without surprises. The hotel must have suitable meals, activities for children, pools, animators, and transfers should not be too long.

Families also react more sensitively to changes in travel conditions, so flexibility is important to them. They look for family-friendly hotels with kids’ clubs and entertainment, short transfers, convenient flight times, flexible conditions, and the possibility to change dates.
The fourth traveler type is “Deal hunters”. They most often choose Turkey (Alanya, Kemer), Egypt (Hurghada), the Greek island of Crete, Bulgaria. This type is suitable for more destinations, as the most important here are travel conditions and price.
For this type of traveler, the destination is not the most important criterion. They primarily look for the best price-quality ratio and only then consider where to go on vacation. According to the study, 17% of respondents choose trips based on available deals rather than a specific season or pre-planned destination. Also, as many as 82% of this group choose organizers only after evaluating specific offers.

These travelers most often wait for last-minute offers and are inclined to make quick decisions if they see a good price. For them, promotions and discounts, hot deals, the best price-quality ratio, flexibility regarding destination and travel dates are most important.
“Undoubtedly, a family with children can also be a seeker of peaceful rest, and a country seeker can wait for the best deal. However, the study data clearly show these four dominant traveler types, which help better understand what people expect from their vacations,” says I. Aukštuolytė.
