During the meeting, Sabenas Lee, Dovydas Giedraitis, and other Žalgiris players tried various firefighter tasks, such as cutting a car with special pliers or holding a fire hose, with which S. Lee sprayed his teammates.
“It was a fun experience. The firefighter gear is really heavier than I thought, weighing about 15 kilograms. I am very glad they let me try the hose – I aimed it at my teammates, but I didn’t expect them to actually turn on the water. A few guys got wet, but it was really fun,” S. Lee said with a smile.

D. Giedraitis shared his experience cutting a car body, and State Fire and Rescue Service representative Donatas Gurevičius discussed the idea behind this initiative.
“We are similar to basketball players in that we also work as a team. Each of us has our roles, so we thought we could have such a joint event since we always stand guard at the arena during Žalgiris games. We let the basketball players try on our clothes, and they were surprised at how heavy the firefighter gear is. We had a really great time with the Žalgiris players; their enthusiasm and desire to try as much equipment as possible were evident,” D. Gurevičius said happily.
