After a meeting with the council’s experts, the chamber’s presidium decided not to collect the membership fee until the general assembly of members reconsiders the amount of the contribution, the council announced on Friday.
The council’s chief advisor on violation investigations, Elon Šatas, says that by suspending the fee, the chamber removed the barrier for new administrators to enter the market.
“Competition rules prohibit both economic entities and the organizations uniting them from making decisions that may restrict competition, including creating unjustified barriers for new market participants,” E. Šatas said in a statement.

In April, the chamber had decided to apply an entry fee of eight minimum wages, or 9224 euros.

Participation of insolvency administrators in the chamber’s activities is mandatory.
