With an impressive finish, the tall Lithuanian swimmer raced into yet another final

D.Rapšys, who participated in the first semifinal, completed the distance in 1 min. 46.28 sec. and finished seventh. In the overall standings, he took 12th place and did not advance to the final.

In the qualifiers, the Lithuanian swam in 1 min. 46.94 sec. and was 15th overall.

T.Navikonis did much better in the second semifinal, swimming the distance in 1 min. 45.63 sec., improving his personal career record and touching the finish wall second – securing his ticket to the final.

After 150 meters of the distance, T.Navikonis was still last in eighth place, but finished impressively – in the last 50 meters, the Lithuanian overtook six competitors.

In the overall standings, the 207 cm tall Lithuanian took seventh place, while the first was multiple European and world champion David Popovici (1:44.56).

In the morning qualifiers, the Lithuanian swam to the finish in 1 min. 46.22 sec. and was also seventh.

The final of this event is scheduled for Friday at 19:36 Lithuanian time.

T.Navikonis has already participated in the 100 m freestyle final, where he took eighth place.

Tonight, two more Lithuanian women will jump into the Olympic Paris pool. Kotryna Teterevkova will participate in the 200-meter breaststroke semifinal at 20:11, and 16-year-old Ieva Jurkūnaitė will swim in the first final of her career at 20:36 – the Lithuanian will compete in the women’s 200-meter freestyle battle for medals.
