„It is necessary to think about what changes in the laws are needed, if any, and the Parliament is capable of addressing them. This is probably the situation that has resonated in society, such questions will be raised to the parliamentarians,“ the Prime Minister said to journalists on Wednesday in the Kaunas district.

According to the Prime Minister, the names are most likely not disclosed based on the prosecutors’ emphasis on the presumption of innocence.
„I think they are not revealing because they personally evaluate the specific case in some way. Apparently, as the prosecutor said yesterday, there is the presumption of innocence existing for everyone, and probably based on that it was refused to be made public,“ said M. Sinkevičius.
„But I think that everyone in society understands – we are a small country and silence is only a temporary thing. It is a matter of a few days or weeks when what was kept silent becomes clear,“ he said.
The Speaker of the Parliament Juozas Olekas said on Wednesday that after law enforcement announced these events, he promises to review whether legal acts need to be changed.

One priest is accused of sexual crimes against 11 minors, possibly committed between 2002–2025, his case was transferred to the Vilnius District Court for consideration.
In another case transferred to the Vilnius City District Court, another priest is accused of possession of child pornography, there are no victims in this case.
According to the data from the news portal „Delfi“ and the „Liteko“ court schedules system, the accused are respectively Tadas Švedavičius and Ryšardas Peciunas.
The Vilnius Archdiocese states that it learned about the possibly offending priests from the prosecutor’s office, which started a pre-trial investigation. Then the priests were suspended, and canonical investigations were also initiated against them.
