The network, owned by the corporation of the world’s richest man Elon Musk, SpaceX, did not explain why these changes were made.

According to the updated Starlink travel rules, more than 30 European countries – including Germany, Czechia, Slovakia, and Lithuania – are grouped into one region, allowing customers to use satellite internet service abroad without international usage restrictions.
However, Poland was removed from this region.
“Poland is not included in the European region… Accounts registered in Poland are considered intended for use only in Poland,” the Starlink guidelines state.
What changed?
These rules apply to new customers from July 14, and will take effect for existing customers on August 17.
Customers with the Starlink unlimited Roam plan can use the service outside their country of registration for up to 30 days during a single trip. Other plans restrict service usage to the country where the account is registered.
For Polish users, this change may significantly increase the cost of using Starlink abroad. A customer with a 100 GB Roam plan, priced at 180 zlotys (42 euros) per month, would need to switch to the 460 zlotys (107 euros) Roam Unlimited plan to use the service outside Poland.
Connections with Ukraine?
SpaceX did not explain why Poland was excluded from the European region.
This sparked speculation in the Polish media that the decision may be related to Starlink terminals purchased in Poland, which were later used in Ukraine.
Starlink played a crucial role in maintaining Ukrainian military and civilian communications during the war.
Since Russia launched a large-scale invasion in 2022, Warsaw has supplied thousands of Starlink terminals to Ukraine and covered their subscription costs. Last year, Polish authorities stated that they purchased nearly 25,000 terminals for Ukraine between 2022 and 2024.
Russian forces also acquired Starlink terminals through unofficial channels and used them for battlefield communications and drone operations. Earlier this year, following repeated requests from Kyiv, SpaceX disabled terminals illegally used by the Russian military.
