One of the most famous hip-hop groups in Lithuania, “8 Kambarys,” is returning to the seaside and invites their fans to celebrate Žolinė together on August 15 with an acoustic format concert.

The duo of Deividas Alejūnas and Karolis Talutis never stops searching for a different musical sound that would enrich their creativity. This stage, according to Karolis, is completely new and untouched, allowing them to present their songs to the audience in an intimate and very sincere way.
“We have played a lot with the band and without the band, but we never had a concert with little music behind which we could hide. While creating the acoustic program, we saw that the songs revealed themselves to us in a new way. After playing a few acoustic concerts, we felt that this is another branch we had not touched yet, but it allows smaller audiences to present their creativity in a new and intimate way,” reveals Karolis.
This summer, the duo is focusing not only on concerts but also on creating new songs. Their latest singles “Dėl tavęs,” “Pakelk akis,” and “Klavišai tarp pirštų” already feature live instrument recordings. The group says they are fascinated by such instrumental sound, and acoustic concerts inspire them to seek new colors for their songs, so when creating a new album, the duo aims to collaborate with as many musicians as possible and include fewer computer-generated melodies.
“Although there will be no acoustic songs on the new album, the things we discover in the acoustic format will definitely be revealed. Now we see that we really like the live sound. It seems we want as little computer as possible and as many professional people as possible who can contribute a lot from their experience. And the process itself is more fun, so the next album will definitely have a lot of live instruments, and the acoustic format certainly influences that,” the group shares.
Usually, “8 Kambarys” performances are characterized by high energy, lights, and sound, but on the terrace of the Palanga Amber Museum, they will appear quite differently. The acoustic format of the “Palangos parko vakarai” concert series gives loyal fans, new listeners, and even Karolis and Deividas themselves the opportunity to experience something new. According to Karolis, this is a very authentic experience during which they can no longer hide on stage and must open their hearts to the audience.
“And people who listen to us can hear us in a new way, and people who accidentally come across us can see our group differently. It is a completely naked concert where we have nothing to hide behind and do not try to create energy from instruments or movement. Everything comes from the stories and their presentation. During acoustic concerts, we return to the emotions with which the songs were written. When there is no noise that blends with the words, and only the sound of the guitar remains. Even for me, who has been performing songs for many years, they sound completely different,” Karolis says.
Deividas agrees with his colleague and says that the acoustic format changes not only the sound of the group’s works but also the very relationship with the listeners. Without the usual elements typical of a concert, there is more space for sincere communication, spontaneity, and closeness. The performer compares such an atmosphere to visiting a good friend – an evening where there is no need to act or try to meet any expectations.

“As Karolis said, we do not hide at all, we just sit behind the guitar, communicate with people, and perform pieces. The feeling is like coming to a friend’s house, where you do not worry at all and just be yourself without any tension. We try not to create an environment where you would feel obliged to do something, be dressed a certain way, or behave in a certain manner. At our concerts, especially this one, the feeling is very free,” says Deividas.
Musicians who have been working together for more than a decade notice that their style and creativity have matured along with themselves. According to Deividas, the group consciously does not chase marketing tricks or popularity formulas but rather focuses most on the quality and authenticity of the music.
“There are various formulas for writing songs correctly, but I think people care about the person himself. Music is an important thing, but I always think that it is more important to be a good person. We do not think about how to be popular. If we did, we would sit and look for formulas to make pop music. But we think about how to transmit ourselves and our emotions as we really live,” Deividas reveals.
Inviting to celebrate Žolinė together, the members of “8 Kambarys” say they do not have special traditions for this holiday, but Karolis jokes that anything can be expected on such a day. He admits that he had never imagined such a historic place in the group’s concert plans before, but this adds even more intrigue to the upcoming evening.
“Something incredible can happen, you can expect sensitivity, emotions, come to change something, realize, and take something new. We never thought we would be able to perform on the terrace of the Palanga Amber Museum, but it is very nice to discover such places where we never thought we could ever perform,” Karolis rejoices.
