Brothers Dovydas and Domantas Stankūnas won silver in the pairs double sculls final. The Lithuanians completed the 2000-meter distance in 6 min. 18.29 sec. and were second only to the Romanians Stefan Constantin Berariu and Florin Sorin Lehaci (6:15.62).
Until now, the best achievement of Dovydas and Domantas was fourth place, which they won three times – in 2022, 2023, and 2025.
Bronze medals were won by Dovilė Rimkutė and Martyna Kazlauskaitė – they finished third in the pairs double sculls final.
The Lithuanian women covered 2000 m in 6 min. 46.66 sec. Our country’s representatives were less than a second behind the silver-winning Greeks Dimitrios Eleni Kontou (6:46.10), while gold was won by Tatsiana Klimovič and Alena Furma competing with neutral athlete status (6:44.78).
Two more Lithuanian crews were close to medals.
Mantas Juškevičius, Povilas Stankūnas, Arnedas Kelmelis, and Saulius Aušbikavičius took fourth place in a very tough fight in the men’s single coxless fours final, although they were only 1.42 seconds behind the bronze medals.
Meanwhile, Ugnė Juzėnaitė and Kamilė Kralikaitė completed the distance in the women’s single double sculls final in 7:02.38 min. and took 5th place.
One of the leaders of the Lithuanian rowing team, Viktorija Senkutė, also performed excellently on Saturday, finishing second in her semifinal race (7 min. 26.18 sec.) and will race for medals in the final on Sunday.
