„I think that now it is a necessary set of measures. At the moment we are pressing very hard. Now, when a gasoline tank in Moscow costs 3.5 times more than it used to, when people in Moscow are forced to stand in several lines to fill their cars with fuel, that is already something. Now we need to “finish off” Wildberries and Ozon, it is necessary. This will lead to the collapse of the banking system, because they are some of the main borrowers,” he noted.
D. Štilerman emphasized that Wildberries is the largest loan recipient in Russia, and if it is forced to go bankrupt, it will inevitably lead to the collapse of a huge number of banks.
“At least VTB (a state-owned financial institution in Russia – editor’s note) put everything on Wildberries. They expected to automatically take over the entire 50 million Wildberries customer base. VTB was already not doing very well, and now trillions of rubles in loans will be irretrievably lost. And this could ruin the second largest bank in Russia. And this needs to continue,” he explained.

Moreover, as D. Štilerman noted, this would mean a violation of the established order, the collapse of tens of thousands of companies that support the Russian army with their taxes and cater to Moscow’s imperial ambitions.

He also emphasized that the companies Wildberries and Ozon, besides their significant contribution to the Russian economy, played a key role in supplying the military.
As previously reported by the news portal Unian, the Russian online trading group Wildberries convinced Kremlin master Vladimir Putin that it could be something more than just a Russian equivalent of Amazon. It was believed that it could also “challenge the US-led payment system worldwide.”
However, after Ukrainian attacks devastated five company warehouses last week, instead Wildberries became another weak spot in the Russian leader’s military economy.
