“The main organizer of the event has been detained. He has been served with a notice of suspicion under Article 367, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court will choose a pre-trial measure for him in the near future,” he announced.

R. Kravchenko added that “due to minor injuries” he is being treated in a medical facility.
He also reported that a search was conducted at the association’s office and at the residences of individuals potentially involved in organizing this event.
According to the investigation, one of the arms manufacturers’ associations, “without any coordination” with the military command, regional and district military administrations, and other authorized institutions, organized a large-scale event attended by military personnel, government representatives, international partners, and business representatives.
“The program, among other things, included a demonstration of air defense systems. More than 300 people were invited to the open area. The nearest shelter, with an area of only 34 square meters, was approximately 100 meters from the event location,” said R. Kravchenko.

He added that this posed a security risk to hundreds of people. Furthermore, invitations to the event were sent out 9 days before it, and the exact location and time were announced only one day prior.
“During the investigation, it is being checked whether these actions could have contributed to the enemy being able to prepare a targeted strike,” said R. Kravchenko.
Law enforcement officials will separately legally assess the actions or inactions of all officials who were obliged to respond to potential risks.
Specifically, according to Kravchenko, the activities of the relevant units of the National Police, the Security Service of Ukraine, state institutions, local self-government, and military command are being checked.
