In March 2026, a week after Netflix declined to acquire film studio Warner Bros. Discovery, the streaming giant acquired an artificial intelligence company founded by actor Ben Affleck.

Bloomberg initially valued the deal at nearly $600 million.
While Netflix did not comment on the news, the exact deal amount was revealed in a document released by the SEC, stating that $587 million was paid for InterPositive.
B. Affleck is the sole founder of InterPositive.
According to the company’s website, its goal is “to combine artistic expression and technology to create bold and memorable visual stories.”
“I knew I had a duty to my colleagues and the entire film industry to protect human creativity and the people behind it. That’s what I wanted to do when I founded InterPositive,” Affleck said about the AI startup.
InterPositive is said to be developing AI tools for filmmakers.
According to Variety magazine, Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos said during an earnings report presentation that AI is currently being used in approximately three hundred projects that are in production, mostly in the post-production phase.
