In the explanatory note to the amendments to the Excise Law, they write that this is a reaction to the situation where oil supply was disrupted due to the conflict in the Middle East, its prices significantly increased, which led to higher fuel prices in Lithuania. In addition, the heating season is approaching, and a greater demand for diesel will be felt.
It is proposed to reduce the fixed part of the excise duty on gas oil from 500 to 450 euros per 1 thousand liters, and for those used in agriculture – from 60 to 10 euros per 1 thousand liters.
