A reader contacted the 15min editorial office, claiming that a young man was brutally beaten during a party in Druskininkai. According to her, the victim was allegedly attacked by several individuals, and the young man sustained serious injuries.
According to the reader, everything started with a conflict between partygoers, but it almost ended tragically – the beaten young man was allegedly very severely injured, and the blows could have been fatal.
Eglė Kačinskienė, a representative of the Alytus County Chief Police Commissariat, confirmed to 15min that on July 18, at about 2:40 AM, Druskininkai police officers received a report from the hospital about a young man born in 2008 who had various types of facial bruises.
According to the police, due to his condition, the victim could not explain the circumstances of the incident that day, so he was referred to Kaunas Clinics for further examination.
Initially, officers clarified the circumstances of the incident, and on July 22, they launched a pre-trial investigation under Article 138 of the Criminal Code regarding minor health impairment. The police note that an official medical conclusion regarding the sustained injuries has not yet been received.
“Currently, Druskininkai police officers continue to carry out necessary procedural actions, analyzing available and provided information to clarify the circumstances of the incident. No suspicions have been raised against anyone. The pre-trial investigation is organized by the prosecutors of the Alytus District Prosecutor’s Office,” E. Kačinskienė stated.
The informant who contacted 15min stated that a well-known MMA fighter was involved in violence at the party, but when Alytus officers were asked about this athlete’s participation in the incident, the police could not confirm this information.
