According to information available to the news portal VE.lt, chanterelles were being sold for about 8 euros per liter in Klaipėda, while a kilogram of these mushrooms cost approximately 12 euros in Palanga.

Mushroom pickers who ventured into the forests after the recent rainy days say that not only chanterelles are being found – some porcini mushrooms have also appeared, although the season is just beginning.
Ugnė, who picked mushrooms in the coastal forests, said that there had been few mushrooms this summer until now, but the situation changed after the rain.
“Realistically, there haven’t been any mushrooms on the coast all summer. Now they’ve only started after the rain, mostly chanterelles and a few porcini, but even those are very few,” the mushroom picker told VE.lt.

During one trip to the coastal forests, the woman and her companions found mostly chanterelles and about ten porcini mushrooms. Only a few red-capped scaber stalks have appeared so far.
“Many were healthy, but there were also some with worms in their stems or caps. There aren’t yet so many porcini that you can be very selective,” Ugnė said.

She said she goes to the forest not for mushroom trading, but for pleasure.
“I only pick for myself, I never pick for sale,” said the mushroom picker.
