6 mln. euro investment in Alytus: a factory that has not yet started operating will open its doors for one day on a special occasion

The unusual event venue was chosen intentionally. The Alytus Business Forum moves to a new city space every year, reflecting the changes taking place at that time. This year, the forum organizers focus on industry and investments – an area in which Alytus has undergone a significant transformation in recent years.

Almost 18 years in Alytus – now a new stage of development

“Aradas” has been operating in Alytus for almost 18 years. The company’s windows are exported to the Netherlands, Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Ireland, and other European countries.

The new 7,500 square meter factory in the Alytus industrial park marks another stage of the company’s development. About 6 million euros are being invested in it, and once operations begin, production volumes are planned to increase, exports to expand, and new jobs to be created.

It is in this factory, which is still preparing to start operations, that the future of business and the economy will be discussed on October 2nd.

“If you judge Alytus only by what you heard ten years ago, I have news for you – Alytus has changed.

If you judge Alytus only by what you heard ten years ago, I have news for you – Alytus has changed.

We are not only one of the greenest but also one of the fastest-growing industrial cities. Million-euro investments are coming here, jobs are being created, and business is growing. Therefore, on October 2nd, I invite you to come and see for yourself what is happening in Alytus,” says the mayor of Alytus city municipality, Nerijus Cesiulis.

The face of Alytus industry is changing

For many years, the industrial identity of Alytus was shaped by the Cotton Mill and other large factories. Today, the city is nurturing a different kind of industry – more modern, technologically advanced, focused on exports and creating higher added value.

Not only factories are changing. Technologies, products, export markets, and the demand for specialists are changing. Companies operating in the city are investing in production expansion, and educational institutions are preparing specialists needed by the labor market.

Therefore, this year’s Alytus Business Forum venue becomes a kind of illustration of what will be discussed at the event – investments, growth, competitiveness, and the future of business.

The forum follows investments

The Alytus Business Forum does not have a permanent venue. The organizers consciously choose a new location each year that best reflects the city’s change at that time.

In 2025, more than 400 business representatives, investors, experts, and guests met at the newly opened sports complex “Go Padel.” This year, participants will enter a different space – a new factory where production has not yet started.

“We want the Alytus Business Forum not to be an event where people come only to listen to presentations. It should be a place to meet, discuss, make contacts, discover new opportunities, and at the same time see Alytus itself.

It should be a place to meet, discuss, make contacts, discover new opportunities, and at the same time see Alytus itself.

The city and its business are evolving, so the forum evolves as well. This year, you will be able to feel it from the venue to the program,” says one of the forum organizers, Alytus city municipality mayor’s advisor on business development issues, Saulius Ivoška.

Business will meet in Alytus on October 2nd

This year’s Alytus Business Forum will bring together representatives of business, investments, economy, and local government. The program includes relevant business and economic topics, well-known speakers, discussions, new event formats, and opportunities to establish business contacts.

However, the organizers aim for visitors from other Lithuanian cities to also see what is happening behind the scenes of the forum – how Alytus industry is changing, what investments are coming to the city, and what opportunities are seen by companies already operating here.

The Alytus Business Forum will take place on October 2, 2026, at the new UAB “Aradas” factory, Fortų St. 18, Alytus Industrial Park.

Participation is free, but registration is required – alytausforumas.lt.
