Before the match, Saben Lee shared his thoughts on the team’s preparation and adaptation to the coaching staff’s schemes.
“During the preseason games, we need to improve the things the coaches pass on to us during preparation – defensive and offensive plans. We have to sort out the details before the season starts, while we can still make mistakes.
We have quite a few newcomers on the team, so the coaches are teaching us defensive systems, terminology, and trying to ensure that everyone understands equally what is expected of them. These were the main focuses of the first trainings,” said S. Lee.
The American also spoke about the team’s chemistry on the court, and then answered a question about the “Žalgiris” face for the upcoming season.
“We will be a fast-paced team that tries to take advantage of opportunities in fast breaks. Of course, we will play aggressively on defense, attack the ball, and try to show winning basketball,” added S. Lee.

S. Lee also spoke about his role and highlighted his desire to play the first games after the summer.
The Kaunas “Žalgiris” and Riga “Zelli” friendly match will start this Saturday at 17:45.
At the “Žalgiris” arena, Tomas Masiulis’ trainees will play two more preseason games behind closed doors against Utena “Juventus” and Baku “Sabah.”
