According to him, excluding passengers flying in other directions who do not leave the airport, Vilnius Airport served about 535 thousand passengers in May, and Riga Airport served about 499 thousand.
In total, Lithuanian Airports served 734.4 thousand passengers in May – a new one-month record (the previous record was 707 thousand served in August 2025) and 8.5 percent more than last year.
In May, Vilnius Airport served almost 542 thousand, Kaunas Airport – 157 thousand, and Palanga – 36 thousand passengers. Kaunas Airport stood out with particularly rapid growth (10 percent) compared to the same period last year.

“Charter flights, unfortunately, continue to decline, but the number of passengers on regular flights increased by as much as 14 percent thanks to new destinations,” emphasized S. Bartkus.
The number of flights in Vilnius exceeded the 4 thousand mark in May – a total of 4247 flights were served. In Kaunas, the number of flights served in May reached 1140, and in Palanga – 407.
