Electric car manufacturer “Xpeng” has introduced a new model “Xpeng L03” – the company’s most internationally adapted car to date. The new generation SUV coupe class “Xpeng L03” combines four main features – supercar-inspired design, premium-class comfort, practicality, and the latest smart technologies.

This is the company’s first car to have its global premiere simultaneously in as many as 65 markets. Officially presented in Munich, the model marks an important step in implementing the company’s international expansion strategy and a broader vision of physical artificial intelligence.

The presentation of the “Xpeng L03” in Europe is part of the manufacturer’s strategy “In Europe, For Europe.” The company states it aims to adapt its technologies and solutions to the needs of European drivers and market conditions. More than 60,000 customers in the Old Continent have already chosen the manufacturer’s cars.

Dynamic and efficient

Drivers are offered both a fully electric model (BEV) and a Power X (REEV) version with extended range technology (range extender).

The new “Xpeng” range extension technology is an additional gasoline generator. Unlike conventional hybrid cars, the gasoline engine here functions as a generator: the energy it produces charges the battery, and the car is powered by an electric motor. This technology allows for traveling a much greater distance with fewer stops to recharge the battery while maintaining the driving dynamics typical of an electric car.

The “Xpeng L03” stands out with excellent dynamic properties and efficiency: the most powerful versions with all-wheel drive (“AWD Performance” and “AWD Performance Ultra”) accelerate to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. The “AWD Performance” can travel up to 440 km on a single charge (according to WLTP). The most efficient “RWD Long Range version” can travel up to 520 km on a single charge (according to WLTP). The car’s battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in about 20 minutes.

Sporty appearance – a creation of the “Ferrari” design chief

The L03 design was created by former “Ferrari” exterior design chief JuanMa Lopez. The car’s appearance reveals “Xpeng’s” design philosophy “Vital Flow” – it features wide body lines, SUV coupe proportions, a sporty silhouette, frameless doors, and excellent aerodynamics.

The car is designed to meet global five-star safety standards.

Attention to detail typical of the premium class is also reflected inside the car. The interior features a 15.6-inch central screen, a head-up display (W-HUD) in front of the driver, ambient lighting, smart climate control, and comfortable seats.

When configuring specific models, it will be possible to choose seats with ventilation, heating, and massage functions.

Designed for everyday use, the car has 37 storage compartments, a spacious trunk, and can tow up to 1,500 kg.

Artificial intelligence and smart driving

According to “Xpeng” developers, artificial intelligence technologies will play an increasingly important role in mobility in the future. The company states it aims to make advanced technologies accessible to a wider range of users.

The model was created using the company’s own advanced technology platform. One of the most important innovations of the “Xpeng L03” is the AI-based next-generation smart driving system NGP (VLA 2.0). It is designed to assess complex traffic situations and assist the driver in making decisions on the road. “Xpeng” plans to start implementing this technology in Europe from 2027. New features will also reach users through future over-the-air software updates (OTA).

A similar autonomous driving system is already available in “Tesla” cars in Lithuania. If the European Union approves the use of this technology, “Ultra” version models will be able to use it immediately. This means the driver will only need to enter the destination into the navigation system, and the car will be able to drive independently to the specified location without the driver holding hands on the steering wheel.

The car also features the new “Xpeng” smart cabin system XOS 6 with an AI voice assistant. It can understand natural human language, recognize conversation context, and control various car functions.

“Xpeng” also announced a partnership with “Google Maps.” The company will become the first automaker in the Asia-Pacific region to integrate the “Google Maps Auto SDK” technology into its cars. This will allow creating a navigation system tailored for “Xpeng” cars that operates directly on the car screen without additional apps or phone use.
