J. Svyrydenko, who replaced then Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in July 2025, will now take on a new role – leading cooperation with Ukraine’s key partners, V. Zelensky announced on social media.

“Ukraine is changing its political strategy. Each priority foreign policy direction will be overseen by a specific experienced person capable of implementing agreements reached at the leadership level and meeting the expectations of the Ukrainian people,” V. Zelensky wrote.

“I discussed this in detail with Ukraine’s Prime Minister Svyrydenko. We agreed that a Cabinet update is necessary to implement these changes,” he stated.

V. Zelensky thanked J. Svyrydenko “for clear, consistent, and effective work as Prime Minister, for many years of productive service in the Ukrainian team.”

“I discussed with the president the challenges facing our country, the changes needed to strengthen the government’s work, and our relations with international partners,” J. Svyrydenko wrote on social media in turn.

“Today it is extremely important to unite all efforts and resources to strengthen Ukraine,” she emphasized.

She thanked the Cabinet of Ministers for their work and said that together they made tough decisions under pressure, survived the hardest winter in Ukraine, and never allowed Russia to “stop the heartbeat of our state: its economy.”

J. Svyrydenko’s resignation still needs to be approved by parliament.

V. Zelensky also announced that heads of Ukraine’s law enforcement agencies will be changed, although he did not specify which ones.

The last major government reshuffle by the Ukrainian leader was in January, after a major corruption scandal involving members of his close circle, including former head of the presidential office Andriy Yermak.
