Recent laboratory tests have shown that the water quality of this beach does not yet meet hygiene requirements. Beachgoers are informed about this by a warning sign erected on the beach, according to a press release from “Grinda”.

The recommendation not to swim at the Naujoji Vilnia beach has been in effect since July 16. During this period, “Grinda” has commissioned three water tests, but none of their results allowed this recommendation to be lifted.
Water samples will be taken and tested again in the near future. We will inform about the latest test results as soon as we receive them.

July in Vilnius saw many rainy days, and various environmental factors, including heavy rainfall, can affect water quality in rivers. At the beginning of July, increased microbiological contamination indicators were recorded at the Žirmūnai, Trakų Vokė, and Grigiškės beaches, but later the water quality there recovered and it is currently safe to swim.
“Grinda” supervises 15 beaches in the capital. At all of them, except Naujoji Vilnia, the water quality is currently good, so it is safe to swim there.
