“As forecasted, today is a hot day. In many places, the air has heated up to 30-33 degrees. Over the next day, the very warm air mass will gradually retreat. This retreat may be stormy in at least part of the country. Short rains will pass in many places. In some places, heavy rain, thunder, hail, and squall (i.e., sudden wind strengthening to 15-20 m/s) are possible,” wrote G. Valaika.
The meteorologist shared a map from ESSL (European Severe Storms Laboratory), which shows that the highest probability of thunderstorms and hail (dark blue area outlined with white dots) will be in the southern districts in the second half of the day.
“I remind immediately and say once again for those who don’t know – in such a situation, it is not worth blindly trusting hourly forecasts from digital weather models. If you see very heavy rain forecasted, for example, tomorrow at 4 p.m., it definitely does not mean that the storm will appear exactly at that time,” he reminded.
