“Axios” revealed one issue discussed by the US delegation with Putin

According to “Axios,” the US delegation during the visit to Moscow included acting head of the US Treasury Department’s sanctions division Gene Lang, as well as representatives from the National Security Council and the US State Department.

It is reported that during the visit, G. Lang joined US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner. G. Lang participated in a preparatory meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s envoy Kirill Dmitriev, but did not attend the meeting with V. Putin.
“Axios” writes that G. Lang’s participation indicates that one of the discussion topics was US sanctions on Russia.
Last week, at the G20 finance ministers’ meeting in Asheville, North Carolina, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant met with his Russian counterpart and stated that the US will pressure Russia until it ends the war with Ukraine.
Putin’s foreign policy advisor Yuri Ushakov later told Russian journalists that S. Witkoff and J. Kushner “seriously prepared for this visit. They not only expressed traditional interest in a swift end to hostilities but also formulated several ideas for possible conflict resolution methods.”
A White House official told “Axios” that the meeting with S. Witkoff, J. Kushner, and V. Putin included representatives from the “National Security Council, State Department, and Treasury Department.”
According to him, “the parties discussed concrete plans for further actions, which will be announced in the coming weeks, and hope that meetings in Ukraine on Sunday will be no less fruitful.”

One of Russia’s largest oil refineries engulfed in smoke after drone attack

At night, Ukrainian drones again struck the Russian Ryazan oil refinery. A fire broke out after the strike. Explosions were also heard in Rostov, where, according to the monitoring channel “Exilenova+,” air defense systems were activated.

US envoys discussed “essential plans” for further steps to end the war in Ukraine during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the White House reported.

“Both sides discussed essential plans for further steps, which will be announced in the coming weeks, and hope for no less productive meetings tomorrow in Ukraine,” the statement said.
Kremlin advisor Yuri Ushakov called the negotiations “very open” and said the Americans “presented a series of ideas for possible paths to an agreement,” but did not provide further details.
