As BNS informed VTEK on Monday, the commission received a personal report on the same day regarding L. Matjošaitytė’s possible violation of the law provisions.
“The commission, having reviewed the information indicated in the report and, if necessary, collected additional data supporting this information, will decide whether there are grounds to initiate an investigation. The VTEK law sets a deadline of 20 working days from the day the report is received to carry out these actions,” the VTEK response stated.
On Monday, the news portal “Delfi” reported that before returning to the VRK, L. Matjošaitytė consulted “Nemuno aušra” regarding the membership fee and helped prepare the party’s response to the commission.
Having become a VRK member last May, L. Matjošaitytė did not publicly declare this fact. She also did not disclose whether she received payment for work for “Nemuno aušra,” claiming that the information is related to her professional activity as a lawyer.
“Nemuno aušra” vice-chairman Robertas Puchovičius confirmed communicating with L. Matjošaitytė but said he did not recall her providing services to the party or receiving payment for it.

From 2017 to 2021, L. Matjošaitytė was the chairwoman of the VRK. She returned to the commission member position last May; her and lawyer Maksimas Reznikov’s candidacies were submitted by then Minister of Justice Rimantas Mockus, delegated by “Nemuno aušra.”
As BNS wrote, when appointed to the commission, L. Matjošaitytė received the least support in a secret ballot, with 88 parliamentarians voting for her candidacy.
In May 2025, the newly composed commission decided on violations of the political campaign financing of “Nemuno aušra.” In some votes, L. Matjošaitytė agreed that the party committed violations; in others, she abstained.
