At the VTEK meeting, circumstances related to the employment of A. Tapinas’ son Vakaris Tapinas at Vilnius “Žalgiris” were evaluated.
The meeting noted that the commission will also contact the football club for information on what powers the football club president has and who makes decisions regarding the employment of individuals there.
The issue of possibly undeclared private interests arose in the public space after information appeared that 23-year-old V. Tapinas started working as a commercial communications coordinator at the capital’s club.
In mid-May, A. Tapinas announced on his social networks that “Žalgiris” was looking for a communications manager and a commercial communications coordinator.

Last week, a photo was circulated in the public space showing that V. Tapinas introduced himself as the “Žalgiris” commercial communications coordinator in an email.
A. Tapinas himself stated that “Žalgiris” is not a Vilnius city municipality company but admitted to not declaring private interests.
