“Residents should know that the State Tax Inspectorate (VMI) never sends SMS messages containing additional links and specifying concrete amounts of taxes, overpayments, or fines. Customers can only find this information by logging into the Mano VMI system,” reminds VMI head Martynas Endrijaitis, urging residents to remain vigilant and protect their data.

Previously, cases of sending false information via email and creating fraudulent websites have been recorded. Residents are advised to always carefully check who sent the information, not to open suspicious documents, and to independently verify information about income declarations, overpayments, or amounts due through the VMI website by logging into Mano VMI or the Electronic Declaration System (EDS).
What to do if you receive a false message?
In all cases, if you suspect false messages, do not click on links or enter your personal data.
If in doubt about the authenticity of a message, customers can always contact VMI by writing an email to duomenu_sauga@vmi.lt (attaching an image of the received message), or by calling +370 5 260 5060.
