The project aims to better protect the critical infrastructure of the electricity grid synchronization with continental Europe, announced the National Energy Regulatory Council (VERT), which on Thursday approved the updated technical investment solutions of “Litgrid”.

“This significant VERT decision will ensure network resilience – this is one of the priorities of the entire sector, especially considering the situation in Ukraine. EU financial support allows for minimal impact on transmission tariffs, the implementation of higher-level protection solutions, and at the same time reduces the additional burden on electricity consumers,” said VERT chairman Renatas Pocius in a statement.
