A one-year contract has been signed with the 39-year-old forward.
In the last two seasons, G. Matulis played in the National Basketball League, representing the Jurbarkas team. In the previous season, the forward averaged 13.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and recorded an efficiency rating of 15.5 per game.

“Gintas is a legend of the Juventus club, whose dedication, love for the team, and experience on the court are extremely needed by our organization. In previous seasons, we tried to allocate one spot in the rotation next to Titas Didžgalvis for young and promising players, but in our opinion, it did not really work out. This time we decided to give this position to an experienced player and hope that it will benefit not only on the court but also off the court,” said Eimantas Skersis, head of the Juventus team, about the returning G. Matulis.
G. Matulis has represented the Juventus club since 2007. He started his journey in the National Basketball League with the Utena team and also moved with the club to the Lithuanian Basketball League. Only after seven years spent in Utena did the forward move to the Molėtai “Ežerūnas-Karys” team.

During his years in Utena, G. Matulis became the most prominent figure in the club’s history. The club legend holds the record for the most games played in Juventus history (347), is the all-time leading scorer (2031 points), leads in steals (214), and ranks second in rebounds (834).
Valid contracts for the upcoming season with Utena Juventus are also held by Šarūnas Beniušis, Titas Didžgalvis, Justas Furmanavičius, Brandon Huntley-Hatfield, Paulius Valinskas, Kenny Pohto, and Chase Hunter.
