The information was stored on the “MyDr” platform, which is one of the largest confidential electronic patient record providers in Poland and is used by doctors and medical institutions, reports the country’s public broadcaster TVP.
The Minister of Digital Affairs, Krzysztof Gawkowski, said that cybersecurity services are working intensively to determine how this breach occurred.
“The response was coordinated, and the Polish government is protecting all information related to this cybersecurity incident,” K. Gawkowski said at a press conference on Wednesday. “As confirmed by the company itself, 19 million records were stolen, containing various types of data that can be linked together.”

K. Gawkowski said that there are currently no signs that the data was stolen due to an attack by another country.
