Everyone who says they never once said the phrase “when will I ever use this” in school is lying? Unfortunately, that day may come sooner than it seems, according to a press release. 12 of the country’s most famous people – athletes and singers, influencers and even politicians – accepted the boldest challenge thrown to them by TV3: to return to the school desk.

Here, neither impressive lifelong achievements, scandals, nor the number of followers on Instagram matter. At school, everyone solves the same tests, deliberately forgets their PE uniform, gets nervous answering at the board, and hides “cheat sheets” from parents in the grade book. Everything would be as usual, except this TV school has one more “but”… The most rewarded are not those who last the longest, but those who drop out first.
Victory here is the last thing you would want. Because that would mean you are the “Dumbest in the Nation”! This is a show that has become a real hit worldwide: Norway, the USA, France, Germany, Finland, Sweden, and many other countries have already chosen their “Dumbest in the Nation.” But who will it be in Lithuania?
You wouldn’t wish such teachers on your children…
The class list will be checked and the entire upcoming chaos will be led by Lithuania’s funniest teachers: comedians Mantas Katleris and Mantas Bartuševičius.
And although in any other project the biggest surprise would be them, in this show even they will not be the most surprising faces. Even the Mantai themselves couldn’t believe who would be grading the marks…
“At first, I thought only very young, perhaps not very well-known people would participate. But in reality, we will see respected and serious people, A-level stars. I have huge respect for them for agreeing to participate in this project. Especially because I don’t know if I would have dared to participate myself…” – admits M.Katleris.
And M.Bartuševičius strictly refuses to use the term “Dumbest in the Nation” for some participants at all! “I think that term could only be addressed to myself. I am sure many participants will drop out very quickly. And if they stay in this project, it will be a huge surprise to me,” he adds.
Who will make it to the final, and who is preparing for a good but short time?
By completing various tasks recognizable to every student, participants will try to drop out of the project as quickly as possible. Because the closer to the final, the closer the greatest threat – the title of “Dumbest in the Nation.”
“I already want to draw everyone’s attention to how the participants’ motivation will change in the third episode. How they will start reconsidering their decisions, how they will become hostile, and someone might even get sick or be unable to participate in filming… The deeper into the forest, the more lost you feel, and there is no way back. But we will definitely keep their spirits up!” – promises M.Katleris.
The participants will be very diverse. Some are known for their courage, others for their thick skin. And the third group is confident in their intellect, so they are preparing for a good but short time in this game. But who will take the “golden dunce cap”? “Some will want to drop out very quickly and prove that they are definitely not the dumbest. Others will probably go with the flow – it will be completely indifferent to them.

And the biggest paradox will be that they, I think, will drop out of the project the fastest,” – considers M.Bartuševičius. And M.Katleris immediately compares this show to another reality show classic – “Survivor.”
“At first, everyone will be happy to get to the island. Everyone will be friends, wanting to communicate. Then the group stage will begin. And when someone in the group ruins things for others, the third stage will come – division. How will participants divide, who will communicate with whom in class? I am convinced that in this project we will see famous people as they were in school,” he says.
Why did the hosts not need much persuading to say “yes” to this project? The teachers may be funny, but they themselves were not saints in school. M.Bartuševičius immediately admits he has no more math knowledge than a fifth grader, and M.Katleris says he was only a top student in class hour. “I find the concept of this project very interesting. It reminds me of summer school, where the goal was to drop out as quickly as possible. I know because I have experienced it myself, with religion,” recalls M.Katleris.
M.Bartuševičius is also preparing to have fun. Not only because he will host the project with a friend, but also because he will be able to legally tease all the remaining colleagues – the country’s most famous people. But watch out for his questions – the biggest quiz fan is already preparing the trickiest questions for his students…
“I really like to wrap questions so that they are not immediately understood. To be honest, I watch all intellectual shows primarily for the questions. I find it interesting both to play myself and to participate in them, but the most interesting thing is to see how the questions of such games were composed. And since I have already seen the tasks of this show, I can say it will be very interesting. It will be even more interesting to see how the participants of this show react when faced with puzzles that have a very clear solution. Of course, I hope they will get very lost!” – says M.Bartuševičius.
