The South American representative, playing an impressive season on the Challenger tour, dominated from the first moments of the match, immediately winning the Lithuanian’s service game.
In total, F. Diaz Acosta converted 4 break points out of 10 in this match, while Vilius had one such opportunity and did not take advantage of it.
This was the second meeting between the tennis players in the past month, and at least for now, the Argentine’s challenge remains too tough for our compatriot – the opponent confidently won all four sets played.

F. Diaz Acosta is a former world No. 47, having already won an ATP tournament in Buenos Aires two years ago. This year, he has won 38 matches and lost only 10 in Challenger tournaments, and on Sunday he will aim for his fifth season trophy.
For his part, this was only V. Gaubas’s second Challenger semifinal this year, but so far the 21-year-old from Šiauliai remains without finals.
The Lithuanian tennis talent, who secured a prize of 10,605 euros and 35 ATP ranking points, should rise to 120th position in the new ATP rankings. Next week, he will face a Challenger tournament in Germany.
