Unconfirmed reports speculate that the Nova Poshta logistics center in Kyiv’s Solomianskyi district was hit. Others claim that the strike was on Zhulyany, officially known as Kyiv International Airport.

Hit 2 planes?

Ukrainian Rada deputy Oleksiy Honcharenko stated that a Russian drone struck a plane in Zhulyany, although he did not provide evidence to support this claim.

“A few minutes ago, Russians struck a plane in Zhulyany with a drone,” the politician wrote.

He also indicated that two old Soviet-model Yak-40 planes, which are no longer in use, were damaged during the attack on the airport.

O. Honcharenko suggested that this strike could have been a signal from Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin that he does not want negotiations with Washington and Kyiv.

“Most likely, Witkoff and Kushner will arrive in Kyiv on Sunday,” he noted, adding that they are probably traveling by land now.

So far, the Ukrainian military leadership has not reported any possible plane shootdown near Kyiv, nor has the military administration reported damage to the airfield.

On Friday, the capital’s mayor Vitali Klitschko informed on the Telegram platform that a fire broke out in the Solomianskyi district of the capital due to a Russian strike. This district is where Zhulyany International Airport is located.
