According to R. Brovdis, this successful operation was carried out by the soldiers of the 427th separate brigade “Rarog” of the Drone Forces.
As early as September 12, in the occupied part of the Donetsk region, they managed not only to determine the location of A. Gruni but also to deliver a crushing blow to him.

In this context, the commander of the Drone Forces also recalled V. Putin’s words about this general: “A man with a Lithuanian surname, born in Kazan, fights excellently.”

R. Brovdis also noted that the title of Russian hero was given to A. Gruni precisely after he reported to the Kremlin leader in July 2026 about the complete “capture” of Kostiantynivka.
“As a man with a Hungarian surname, born in Ukraine and fighting for the Fatherland together with ‘Ptaki’, I report vocally: General Grunis was eliminated by the Drone Forces ‘Ptaki’ reprisal ‘awards’ department on September 12, 2026, in his nighttime lair in the temporarily occupied territory of the Donetsk region,” confirmed R. Brovdis.
He also pointed out that this is already the seventh confirmed military commander at the level of brigade commander, division commander, or army commander who was destroyed specifically by the soldiers of the Drone Forces.
