Moreover, the company’s director published a video recorded during the tests.

The other day, we conducted a very important test – a fully controlled maneuvering flight of the “FP-7.X” missile, which will be the basis of the future anti-ballistic interceptor “Freyja.” No matter how unreal and ambitious this goal may seem today, we are making every possible and impossible effort to make it a reality as soon as possible so that Ukraine can independently defend its sky,” she wrote.

According to I. Terech, every successful test of the new missile is a step towards Ukraine’s technological sovereignty.

“After all, our true independence, among other things, depends on whether we can develop very important technologies on our own. Whether we will be able to make strategic decisions independently of other people’s political cycles, industries, or priorities,” she summarized.

Developing an anti-missile system

In April 2026, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine, in cooperation with European countries, is considering the possibility of developing an anti-missile system within the next year.

On May 14, “Fire Point” co-owner and chief designer Denys Shtilerman announced that the company is joining the anti-ballistic coalition and presented the all-European anti-ballistic project “Freyja.”

The project’s goal is to create a unified safe air and missile defense system, focusing primarily on intercepting ballistic missiles. For defense, among other things, it is proposed to use the ballistic threat interception missile “FP-7.X,” whose tests were demonstrated by “Fire Point” in February.

It is expected that the system will be integrated with other air defense elements according to NATO’s “Link-16” standard.

On May 25, D. Shtilerman said that if the development is successful, by the end of the year it will be possible to intercept enemy ballistic missiles using a cheaper Ukrainian alternative instead of the “Patriot” system.

“If everything goes very quickly – by the end of the year we will be able to implement the first (enemy ballistic missile interception – editor’s note). But this needs to be done very quickly – by everyone,” he said.
