As BNS wrote, the municipality mayor Valerijus Makūnas appealed to the Financial Crime Investigation Service (FNTT), the Public Procurement Office (VPT), and the Chief Official Ethics Commission (VTEK).

The district also temporarily suspended the acting director of Raudondvaris Manor, Kotryna Inga Morkūnaitė, and her deputy Egidijus Morkūnas from their duties.
FNTT representative Modesta Zdanauskaitė told BNS this week that the service forwarded the appeal to the prosecutor’s office.
“The mentioned appeal was received by the Kaunas District Prosecutor’s Office and is currently under review. For the decision made, we suggest inquiring at the beginning of next week,” General Prosecutor’s Office representative Milda Rimkė informed on Friday.
Meanwhile, VPT representative Evelina Butkutė-Lazdauskienė said that “the service employees are reviewing what is available in the public space, conducting an initial document review, and will decide whether a detailed assessment will be carried out.”
According to her information, a decision regarding the assessment may be made next week.
Deputy Chairwoman of VTEK Virginija Aleksejūnė confirmed to BNS that the commission has received a notification from the district municipality, which it plans to review at the upcoming meeting next Wednesday.
“It will be considered what actions to take. It is possible to decide to collect additional information if the notification is not entirely accurate, as well as to start or not start an investigation,” she said.
According to VTEK representatives, the municipality requests an evaluation of the public procurements of Raudondvaris Manor and the actions of the suspended deputy of the farm, E. Morkūnas. According to V. Aleksejūnė’s information on Thursday, the commission had not received any more notifications regarding the manor.
As BNS wrote, Member of Parliament and conservative Mindaugas Lingė announced that Raudondvaris Manor was concluding procurement contracts with a company related to E. Morkūnas.

It is estimated that from 2022 to 2026, the manor concluded 29 non-competitive public procurement contracts with the deputy director’s company, with a total value exceeding 71 thousand euros.
Politicians and the media began to take a more active interest in the employments at Raudondvaris Manor and the procurements of this public institution after an investigative report published by LRT raised doubts about the possibly fictitious employment of the Prime Minister’s spouse, Aistė Sinkevičienė, at the manor.
The investigation also showed that more people from the social democratic environment were employed at Raudondvaris Manor. After this information, V. Makūnas formed a working group to investigate possible violations related to employment.
Additionally, the Kaunas district municipality administration has initiated an internal investigation regarding the Head of the Public and International Relations Department, who is also A. Sinkevičienė, and the senior specialist of this department.
This department, which was established when A. Sinkevičienė returned from maternity leave, was headed by her without competition, as a civil servant who exceeded expectations.
A. Sinkevičienė herself previously rejected any influence of her husband on her career in the municipality administration and the manor, emphasizing her professional achievements and many years of work in the public sector of Kaunas district.
This week, the Parliamentary Anti-Corruption Commission decided to assess possible systemic nepotism at the state level, also evaluating the situation at Raudondvaris Manor.
