His search was intense. Law enforcement officials were contacted, and groups were created on social media. Not only relatives but also many other people joined the search. However, no trace of the well-known Warsaw poet could be found.
As stated in the Facebook group specially created for these searches, it was believed that he most likely left Warsaw by public transport in the direction of Poland’s southern border. It was stated that his mother was the last person to see and speak with him.
P. Kusmirek, 47, was last seen in Poland in the Kamienica area of the Silesian Voivodeship. Neither his family nor his relatives had any idea how or why he ended up there.
According to police data, on the day of his disappearance, around 5:30 PM, the man withdrew money several times from an ATM in a Warsaw shopping center. And then, allegedly, he left for southern Poland by public transport. His traces, as indicated by the police, disappeared in Slovakia. This was on March 9, 2025.

“The efforts to find Piotr have officially concluded. In June of this year, we received the tragic information that on March 13, 2025, Piotr died in an accident on Slovak territory, where he was buried in a local cemetery. In recent days, through the efforts of his relatives, Piotr has been officially declared deceased,” gazeta.pl quotes the announcement.
The man’s remains were found shortly after his disappearance. According to police representatives, identification took a long time because genetic tests were required, which is a lengthy process.
