This is exactly the opportunity offered to the little ones by the shopping and leisure center “Mega”. Until August 31, the free Driving School operating here invites children aged 3–8 to learn safe traffic rules through play, practical tasks, and experiencing various road situations.
“At the Driving School, traffic safety rules are conveyed to children through play, practical tasks, and an environment resembling real situations. When a child can make decisions independently, stop at a traffic light, and safely navigate an intersection, the rules become much clearer and easier to remember. Such experience also fosters responsibility and self-confidence – qualities that will be important for children as they become more independent road users,” says Laimis Binderis, Marketing Manager of Harmony Property Management | Baltic RED, the company managing the Mega shopping center.
A 250 sq. m safe traffic area has been specially set up for the Driving School in the central square of the Mega shopping center. Here, young drivers will find a track resembling city streets with road signs, traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, a roundabout, and other traffic elements. The Driving School session lasts up to 25 minutes and takes place in groups of 8–10 children. It consists of three stages: preparation for the trip, a short interactive theoretical lesson, and the children’s most anticipated practical driving.

While waiting for the start, the little ones can color thematic drawings, look around the track, and get acquainted with the traffic environment awaiting them. Then the educator invites them to take on the traffic rules challenge – in an interactive lesson, they try to guess the meanings of road signs, understand what the traffic light colors and traffic directions mean, and remember how to behave safely on the street. Children who complete the traffic rules challenge will receive gifts prepared by Terra Publica, Flintas, XS Toys, Kubuš, Vidal, Mamba, Lacasitos, and Senukai. These gifts will be awarded to participants who attend the theoretical lesson. The number of gifts is limited.
After completing the theoretical challenge, it’s time to fasten seat belts. Now children can sit in vehicles adapted to their age and height and set off on the track, where the rules they have learned become real tasks. Here, they need to stop on time at the traffic light, yield to pedestrians, obey road signs, safely navigate the roundabout, and remember to observe their surroundings. The track participants will also enjoy fun stops – a gas station and a car wash.

Learning through play at Mega shopping center is not new. For several years now, as September approaches, educational spaces for children have been created here, where serious and everyday important topics are presented in a fun, understandable, and practical way. Previously, young visitors to Mega could try activities at the Shipping Academy, Health Awareness Academy, Fire Academy, and other educational spaces that operated here. In these, children not only listened to stories but also explored, completed tasks, learned to cooperate, and make decisions.
The Driving School continues this educational direction, but this time the main topic is safe behavior on the road. By playing at the Driving School, the little ones will acquire skills useful for everyday travel to kindergarten or school, crossing the street, and gradually becoming more independent road users.
We remind you that the free Driving School at Mega shopping center will operate until August 31. Its organization is supported by UAB ARV-Auto, PRO BRO car wash, 4IQ, Toy Mania, A. Žickevičius Safe Traffic School, and BIPA.
