In the second quarter of this year, the number of employed people was 691,600, which is 5,700 fewer than a year ago, but 5,300 more than in the first quarter. The employment rate (68.6%) was slightly lower than a year ago and just 0.6 percentage points higher than in the first quarter of this year.
“Thus, the employment growth typical for the beginning of summer, which has been observed in the second quarter in recent years, turned out to be quite small this year,” the specialist commented.

Compared to the same period last year, the number of employed decreased in agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, as well as in the service sector, while the number of employed in industry and construction remained stable.
