Although the play talks about old age, its center is not sadness, but life. It is full of humor, memories of youth, unexpected situations, and gentle irony. The audience is invited to look at older people not as “others,” but as themselves – as we are and as we will be in the future.
“When We Are Young” was chosen as the best play of the 15th Dalia Tamulevičiūtė Professional Theatre Festival and the Lithuanian Professional Theatre Festival “We Act for Farmers.” The creative team was awarded the Kaunas Municipality prize “Fortūna,” and the actresses Vilija Grigaitytė, Inesa Paliulytė, Jūratė Onaitytė, and Liucija Rukšnaitytė who perform in the play were awarded the “Golden Stage Cross.”
