Paths, greenery, children’s zones, swings, beaches, seating areas, and small architecture – from bicycle parking spots, benches to changing cabins – will be arranged on the shores.
As BNS said, Daiva Gasiūnienė, head of the Architecture and Urban Planning Department of Anykščiai district municipality, said the shores will stand out because they will be arranged in a unified style.
“Therefore, one project was made for four lakes, although they are geographically in different locations,” she said.
According to the municipality representative, the shores of the lakes need to be renovated not only because access to the water is poor – many overgrown places, overgrown paths.

“There is everything. For example, near Nevėžis, access seems good, but there is little infrastructure. Near Viešintas, access also seems good, but nowadays the beach should be different – so that a person does not have to change in the car or go to the toilet in the bushes. In Svėdasai, it is in a very good location – city center, but hard to access,” she said.
According to D. Gasiūnienė, the situation of Lake Pajuostinis is unique.
“Lake Pajuostinis is in the Troškūnai eldership, which is very attractive to Panevėžys residents, they look for a second home there, generally go swimming, and the Troškūnai area is quite populated by residents themselves, and now it turns out that there are really many private homesteads near that water body, but public infrastructure – not much,” D. Gasiūnienė said.
The municipality has allocated 176 thousand euros for the renovation of the shores, and the remaining funds will come from EU funds.
