A motorcyclist fleeing from the police on the road hoped to avoid responsibility. However, on September 1, the motorcyclist lost control of the vehicle, overturned, and crashed into a street name sign.

At about 16:22, officers from the Road Police Department in Vilnius, Liepkalnis St., noticed a Suzuki motorcycle. The officers saw that the motorcycle had no license plates, so they decided to stop it.
However, as soon as he saw the police crew, the motorcyclist suddenly increased speed and turned onto Katiliškių St. The officers turned on blue and red lights and a siren, but the driver accelerated and fled. This time, the motorcyclist did not get far from the officers.
About a kilometer away, near Katiliškių and Bruknių St., the motorcyclist lost control of the vehicle, it overturned and crashed into a street name sign.
The officers immediately called paramedics. The injured motorcyclist (born in 1996) was taken to the hospital by medical personnel, and the motorcycle was taken to a storage lot.
Materials regarding the incident were collected under Article 281, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Lithuania.
This was not the first time this motorcyclist tried to escape from the police. On the evening of April 19, in Nemėžis, Vilnius district, police officers noticed a motorcycle without license plates and tried to stop it. However, the motorcyclist not only did not stop – he overtook the service vehicle on the right side, creating a dangerous situation, and while driving tried to knock off the side mirror of the service vehicle with his hand. Later, showing obscene gestures, he fled and the officers were unable to find him at that time.
On May 8, the same motorcycle again came into the officers’ view – this time in Vilnius, Kęstučio Street. And again – it did not stop.
He also encountered the police on May 15 in Vilnius, Constitution Avenue, where officers noticed a motorcycle without license plates. The driver, seeing the police, again tried to flee. The motorcyclist rode on the rear wheel, crossed a solid road marking line, overtook other cars in places where it was prohibited, clearly exceeded the speed limit, and endangered both himself and other road users.
Later, officers spotted the motorcycle near a gas station on Goštauto St. When one of the officers tried to stop the motorcyclist, he ignored lawful demands, collided with a colleague, and while fleeing managed to show an obscene gesture.
The motorcyclist continued to ignore the police officers’ demand to stop the vehicle. He dangerously maneuvered between cars, passed through intersections on a red traffic light. This time too, the motorcyclist managed to escape.
Until September 1, when he failed to escape from the police and the journey ended in an accident.
